India-US signed a nuclear deal recently… and there is a lot of optimism on both side around the same. US sees this as a major business opporunity and India sees this as a major growth driver.
Even I am keeping my fingers crossed for my country and see it as a historical step for India to be energy Independent.
I have lot of respect for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh – who brought the industrial reforms back in 1991 – is primarily responsible for all feel good factor we have in India currently at Industrial front.
I foresee this nuclear energy thing as second major contribution to India by Manmohan Singh – maybe this will make India similar to US … maybe this will make a dream come true for India 🙂 to make power cuts something which our children will not even dont know about. (similar to US scenario)
Anyways, this led to me research about Indian and US energy sector history and future … putting up here just to log them.
India Energy Summary
Here are some nice links on this topic
The second link is informative, based on which I made my own excel.
The fourth link is government of india website … the site (as expected) was not working when i visited.
I also made my own forecast and a chart of past, present and future energy production sources …. as shown below
I dont have enough data as of now for current energy projects in India  … so my future predictions are mostly on my gut feeling.Â
Maybe I will do some more research later and will revisit this post when I have more accurate data.
