It was around 12:00 noon here in the US, I could not follow news but I wanted to know what happened to the vote of confidence going on in india. Luckily, I was in call with papa who told me that congress’s government has been saved.
I said to me …. Thank God!!
That was one of the most relieving news I have heard in Indian politics after a long time.
It is not that I am a pro-congress indian (or even anti-congress for that matter.)
There are couple of reasons.
Indo-US Nuclear Deal
First of all I wanted congress to go ahead on the nuclear deal.
I know nothing about the deal (even when it has been very simplified by many bloggers here I have learned which I did not file like reading about.)
But I know one thing – if communists party in my country does not want to get something implemented – then it must be very very benificial for the country.
As simple as that.
Watching your government act like a chimp
It was very painful to see lunatics blackmailing my government just because it is a coalition and unstable government by design.
They can pull the strings on any issue – be it nuclear deal, be it Ram Setu issue etc.
It was equally painful to see government taking strong stands on bullshit issues like reservation quotas… and fighting its own people to get these implemented.
To add to all of this … what is my role? what can i do to change any of above?
Nothing.
I can just watch all of this happening and I could do just nothing to change it.
I can just keep going fulfilling my own destiny, writting tons of codes, shuttling between and India and USA.
A change.
Hence, I was delighted when I heard last week that prime minister Manmohan Singh has finally took a strong stand and told communists party on their face that you guyz may go to hell and I am pushing this deal further.
I like when somebody starts acting like he is supposed to act.
Hence I was doubly delighted yesterday to hear that coalition politics was not able to topple the government.
It was not because I am a pro-congress indian (or even anti-congress for that matter.)
Remembering the past.
I remember the vote of confidence motion brought against BJP back in 2000.
I remember the shitty debate they had for 2 days in parliament over it.
I remember MPs acting like lunatics and just pulling legs of each other. In the name of debate, one person would make some insensible point while everybody else will try to interrupt him 100% of the time … whole nation would watch this nonsense with great pride… news channels will do all sort of pre-polls and post-polls and surveys and their own debates and hidden cameras.
I remember how BJP lost the motion for one vote.
One vote!
That is the price of my country.
I think that day was really a black day for India.
It is not because I am a pro-BJP indian (or even anti-BJP for that matter.)
It is because everytime some chimp succeeds in toppling the government, we are forced an unplanned mid term election. when we know the outcome that either of the chimps will again form similar government.
Election costs money … which is my money to say the least (the taxes I pay) …
So I really hate politicians bringing a no confidence motion against a stable government making them to spend money on elections.
What will be the outcome? Another non-stable goverment?
If the same party came in power, opposition will try to destablize it once again.
If the opposite party came in power, then their opposition will try to destablize it. A nose for a nose hence a no confidence motion for a no confidence motion.
My fellow countrymen…
So, i realy think that my country was very lucky this time that the government got saved somehow and most probably this issue will not be raised in next one year.
Hence, we have now reached “the end” of this part of the movie. that is we can rest in peace till one year more.
I wanted to know what my fellow countrymen are thinking about all of this … especially those who have a good sense of the things happening around … I turned to my fav medium – blogs (my RSS feeds) – and I found out that almost none of my “fav bloggers” has written anything to express their point of view on this matter.
What?
Why?
I see my “fav bloggers” are blogging about american movies, shits that they have blogged before … american politics, and other shits.
But nothing about this issue.
I found out just one entry on DesiPundit on this matter.
I mean blogging is the free-est medium I know … but I expected more people to have opinion on this issue.
I was a bit disappointed to see that … that’s all.
Our Future.
Whatever …. I moved on and kept killing my time by browsing senseless videos about parliament on youtube and thus I found following interesting video showing some “young politicians” of our time
After watching this video I was … are these champus supposed to be future of indian politics.!?
I mean it looks like they dont know even what they are talking about.
Look at their body language, i think they dont even know simple etiquettes like how to sit in front of a lady and not shove your foot in her mouth.
Our Future Prime Minister.
Then I found out couple of more videos … about Mr. Rahul Gandhi, one of those videos is below
Since I know Rahul is supposed to be our future prime minister, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but someday …. but within next 15 years, maybe 10 years, maybe 5.
Hence I found myself interested in this person… how does he talk? what does he think about current issues.
I noticed in the videos that he looked uncomfortable to speak publicly, he seemed like not having his opinion on the issue but just reading to the scripts supplied to him
I mean very frankly I did not find him a “prime minister material” … it felt like he is supposed to be someone which he is not supposed to be.
Our real future.
For the last time.. I am not a pro-gandhi family guy (or even anti-gandhi family for that matter.)
But I felt quite relaxed after watching following videos about Priyanka Gandhi (which also has Rahul in it)
I felt comfortable visualizing these two as our real future leaders.
After watching following videos, and listening to speeches and Priyanka’s talks with villagers … I was like “now I can sleep in peace”.
I mean even if Rahul is on PM seat, this lady will even then be besides him to guide him.
If they persuade her to join politics and she becomes prime minister … I think that will be the best thing which can happen to India in current troubling times.
Together these two can lead my country to next level.
So watch folllowing videos, and thanks for reading such a long post.
